Does a new user need to go through the KYC process to get 100 Signa?
In order to post a faucet request in the first place, a person needs to be accepted into the forum and have the ability to post. Which means they would either need to be whitelisted (free), VIP (paid), or be an official from a broker/exchange (free), or else a coder, developer, or product vendor (free).
If it takes KYC to get 100 coins, it will be beyond the capabilities of beginners.
I understand completely and I wish it could work this way. However, it would not be financially feasible since people would make many requests per day with fake accounts just to get the faucet each time. I've seen it before and this is how I know. It also would not be good for Signum because many Signum addresses would be created and never used later. They would be created and activated just to get the faucet, then all the Signa consolidated into a single location, and then there would be many dormant addresses never used again. So this is why the faucet is for serious people only. It cuts back on all the cheating which saves time and saves money. Yeah, the average person may not want to join just to get 100 Signa, but there are many other benefits that are available later too. For example, the ability to get instant Signa rewards after every post. Someone can talk about Crypto or even Signum and get rewarded. Someone could even promote their own token. There is no need to even talk about Forex. It's like a Signa generating machine here.
