If you don't use a mentor, I think it doesn't matter because the most important thing is to focus on getting profits with the right strategy so that you are more successful.

You can start to use demo account only in that way you can trade to use proper contribution and generate proper knowledge.

                   I  understand that without mentor it is hard to learn. I am giving you an outline, which if you follow  can make you succeed:

                  1.  Choose a strategy, there are hundreds of strategies available on internet.
                  2. Choose a currency pair.
                  3. Practice for one to 03 months on demo. After you succeed in demo trading open real account with just 100$, and gradually increase your capital.
                4. Last but not least greed is the number one killer of forex traders, have reasonable profits and keep on trading

When you are able to learn without using a tutor then it becomes a good activity for you to get and you must be able to learn to understand well.

It doesn't matter when you want to learn by yourself. In fact, it's better if you don't rely on anyone, but you have to remember that the knowledge you use must be what you use for your own comfort.
