bitcoin is protocol safe, but the transaction is one-way that makes it risky.

Although the bitcoin protocol and database are very safe, the risk level for using bitcoin is in the hands of users, especially related to storage. If the "private key" is stolen or lost, it's over we have the bitcoin. Bitcoin associated with the private key in question will disappear forever from the hands of the owner.

Bitcoin security is not guaranteed even though protocol is very safe indeed.

bitcoin is quite safe if it is protocol and algorithmic but it is risky if it is not used properly by the user.

safe or not depends on the user as well because indeed the BTC transaction tends to be directionless and can not be returned.
