Many people may not want to spend the time learning to trade since money isn't guaranteed. If you work a regular job, you you're guaranteed to get paid and also typically get perks like vacation and sick days, maternity leave, holidays off, healthcare, and so on. Meanwhile, you would need to invest time and money to learn to trade, even if a broker does offer some money to help it isn't going to be enough. You also aren't guaranteed to make a paycheck for the hours worked and could even lose that money, so it's quite risky. I think a lot of people would rather be unemployed than to bother with it, but it isn't a bad idea if some of those things can be worked out.
