Good Morning Francoisvs:

Thanks for your message and explanation.  I will increase the Spread to be safe.

Under the common Tab in the Parameters Box, I have the "Allow DLL Imports", and "Allow Import of External Experts" boxes checked.  Do these boxes need to be checked for the Spider RSI EA Program to run?

On programs that I have created myself internally, I don't need to check these boxes.  So, I was just wondering if these boxes need to be checked  in order for your program to work on my demo and live accounts.

Thanks,

Best Regards,

Thomas

Attached is an EA which uses the MA RSI Arrows indicator available from Forex.Zone

It works on all currency pairs and all time frames, the best I've had is on GBPUSD on M30.

It places market orders when arrows appear, up to a maximum as determined by the user in the inputs.
All orders are closed when an input selectable profit value has been reached, the inputs should be self explanatory, but please do not hesitate to contact me if you need more clarification.

This is a trial version, the trial expires on 19/01/2019.
I want to try this EA spider, is it in the form of MQ4 instead of the ex4?

You do not need the MQ4 version in order to use this EA.

The EA doesn't use any external DLL's, so you don't need that box checked. The "Allow Auto Trading " need to be checked though.

The Spread filter is there to specifically filter out trades when the spread goes crazy.
I would suggest running it on strategy tester and set your Spread (on the tester itself, not the EA,) to 30 or anything lower than your EA spread. Then also load the MA RSI Arrows indicator, with the same values as your EA's inputs for MA RSI indi.
Every arrow that appears, should open a new trade (if it is within your trading times if it is set to true, and if a blue arrow appears below a previous buy, or a red arrow above a previous, also again, depending on your EA input "Points difference when adding to position on signal")
Let me know how that goes please. And if it still doesn't open trades, please send me a log and a screenshot of your EA inputs.
( I have literally only changed the expiry date, this is why it drives me nuts now ::)

Dear Francoisvs:

Good Morning.

Thank you for your suggestions.  I followed all suggestions exactly as you recommend.

I have placed the Spider RSI EA on a couple demos and a couple live accounts with two different brokers.

I am normally quite efficient with running programs on the MT4 Platform, but this one has got me stumped.  I am not able to get a trade on any of the four accounts.  I had no problem with the original demo with the expiration test date, that opened trades.  So, I am at a loss at this point in what to do to get trades.

I placed the EA and Indicator on each chart, and saved the EA and Indicator in each platform (EA in experts file, and indicator in the indicator file).  As you can see on one of the 5 screen shots that I attached, the only change in the default parameters is the Spread of 200 (set high to try to get a trade opened), and the Magic Number (for each separate chart). The Parameter Box setting is set to allow live trades, and the MT4 platform is set to allow live trades under "tools/options/experts", as well as, the green Automated Trading Tab on the face of the platform.

The charts show the green letter text, "trades allowed", and I have a smile in the upper right corner of each chart.

I hope that this information will help.

I would really like to use this EA.  I feel that it has excellent potential.

I have tried and tested about 200 EAs over the last 3 years, and I like the feel of this EA as I watched it open trades on the original demo.

Thanks for your assistance and time in this matter.  I look forward to testing this EA extensively, after trading starts.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best Regards,

Thomas

I can't read the log files you sent.
Here are 2 clips I recorded just now, one before and one after the date change, also I attach a pic of the "After" date.
As you can see, the EA executes the buy and sell orders in both instances.

Dear Francoisvs:

The Spider RSI is opening trades as before.  Thank you for your suggestions.

I rebooted my VPS, and MT4 Platforms on which I have loaded the EA.

I also placed the Spider MA RSI Arrows indicator on the Charts with the EA, and saved the Spider RSI Arrows Indicator in the Experts and Indicator files.

The Spider RSI EA is opening trades on all four accounts!

Please watch the fxblue.com link that I sent to you, that has the Spider RSI EA program.

I will keep you advised of my analysis and progress in testing.

Thank you!

Best Regards,

Thomas

It is all broker dependent, not account type. But which ever way, the EA will adjust it's decimals according to the specific symbol.

Hi Thomas
Here is the modified version as requested with the following changes.

  • Option to set a SL
  • Move to break even function (which can also lock in some profit)
  • Trailing stop function.
  • Close Positive trades at a % of account balance
All these can be activated/de-activated using the true/false options as requested.
I've also changed the starting date, so you can do back tests from 01/01/2018.

(Please note version nrs when loading them on a chart, this one has a .01 added to the end)

The trial version has expired already.
The EA will automatically determine lot size according to account balance, and if you keep the Maximum buys and sells to 10 each, it shouldn't put you in a MC position
